Using online parenting programs as an aid to psychological intervention for children and adolescents

Organiser Banner

Overview

This webinar will introduce participants to the Australian Government-funded, Parent Education and Support Program through the Department of Health and Ageing (PESP).

PESP has funded the national implementation of the Triple P Online system of evidence-based parenting programs for children under the age of 12 years. Three online programs (Triple P Online, Fear Less Triple P Online, and Triple P for Baby Online) are currently available and are free to all Australian families. The circulation of Triple P program has had a major social impact both within Australia and internationally. It has led to dramatic improvements of the lives of millions of children, their families, and the communities they inhabit. This webinar demonstrates to practitioners how to blend in-person and online parenting intervention for children with social, emotional, and behavioral problems to promote enhanced clinical outcomes for children.

The development and evaluation of Triple P has involved over 1,779 individual researchers from over 551 academic institutions in 42 countries over four decades. Globally, there have been 198 randomised controlled trials of Triple P.  Practical and logistical issues will be discussed with Q&A to address implementation issues. Triple P has been shown to work with a diverse range of socioeconomic and cultural groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
