Organiser Banner

Overview

The APS hosts this webinar with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

75% of psychologists are working in private practice in at least a part-time capacity and are entering this environment as part of their placements whilst in training and early in their careers. There are many reform, compliance, and regulation matters that apply to psychologists and there is volatiliity in the way in which psychology in the private practice space will look in the next 2-5 years.

This webinar will assist participants to navigate their own path and gain awareness into both the known and potential factors for success and sustainability

The webinar will:

  • review reforms in regulation and funding and practical ways in which we can respond to the need for mental health supports and treatment,

  • cover business practices, sustainability and clinical governance,

  • describe a model of care that is suitable for group practices and sole traders alike,

  • bring together clinical standards, clinical governance and business considerations to assist participants to consider their model of care, the type of practice they can operate sustainably, and

  • suggest how to respond to our health care sector where there is a strong service demand, but where a shortfall exist in our capacity to respond effectively and efficiently.
