Current APS Major Awards

The APS Altmetrics Award will be awarded annually for a paper published either in the Australian Journal of Psychology, Australian Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist.  This Award rewards the paper with the highest Altmetric Attention Score.

This award celebrates the positive impact of psychology serving people in need in disability and community services, education, justice and corrective services, defence and emergency medicine – and more.

This award recognises psychologists who identify a community need and offer a psychological solution or innovation to meet that need.

The Supervisor Award recognises PsyBA accredited supervisors for their commitment to supervising 

This award highlights the needs of rural and remote communities and encourages psychologists to contribute to the health and wellbeing of people living in these communities.

Recognises distinguished contributions to psychology in Australia by psychologists at later career stage. The contribution must have made a difference to psychology and the Australian community as a whole

The award recognises theoretical or empirical contributions to the discipline of psychology that solve a practical problem faced by individuals or communities

This award recognises outstanding contribution to the education of psychologists over an extended period in Australia

The award recognises those who support community need through the communication of psychological information, research or science

This award recognises excellence in scientific achievement in psychology among early career psychologists

This award encourages developing teachers at Australian higher education providers who demonstrate potential for excellence

The award recognises an outstanding individual in the mid-to-late career stage who has mentored and guided a significant number of early career psychological scientists

This award encourages outstanding research in psychology
