APS Board by-election

BE SURE TO VOTE

One of the APS General Directors, Associate Professor Louise Roufeil FAPS, has recently resigned from the APS Board of Directors to take up a senior position in the APS National Office. Louise was elected to the Board last year for a three-year term and her resignation has created a vacancy, for which a by-election will be held in May this year.

Nominations for the General Director position

Nominations for this position as a General Director on the Board for the remainder of the original three-year term (ending at the 2015 Annual General Meeting) are now open and will close on Friday 26 April 2013. Information on the attributes and competencies that are considered essential to be an effective Director of the APS, as well as nomination forms for the position, can be found at www.psychology.org.au/by-election-2013/.

By-election for the General Director position

A by-election will be held in May for the General Director position on the Board by the usual electronic and postal ballot processes. Members will receive notification about the online voting process in early May and those who have requested will also be sent hard copy election materials to enable voting by post. We encourage members to use the online voting option, so those members who would like to opt out of receiving hard copy election materials may make this selection by going to the APS website. Login at the top right and you will be taken to the ‘Update details’ page. Scroll down to the ‘AGM and election materials delivery method’ section and make your selection.

Voting for the by-election will open in the middle of May and close at 5.15pm EST on Thursday 30 May 2013. All APS Honorary Fellows, Fellows, Members and Associate Members are eligible to vote in the election. We hope that all of these members will participate in this important by-election to have their say in the make-up of the governing Board of the APS.
