Nominations for APS College awards 2013

Nominations are now open for the 2013 College awards in the areas outlined below. The closing date for nominations for all College awards is 31 July 2013.

APS College Awards of Distinction

The Award is bestowed on a senior member of each APS College, each year. It recognises the importance of an individual’s significant contribution to the relevant APS College and in the particular field of that College.

College of Clinical Neuropsychologists

Student awards:

  • Exceptional Postgraduate Student Award (WA)
  • Genevieve Heath Memorial Student Travel Award (QLD)
  • Student Conference Prize

College of Clinical Psychologists

Ian M. Campbell Memorial Prize

The Prize recognises outstanding contribution to the scientific or professional status of clinical psychology in Australia, in the areas of research, therapy and/or social applicability.

Significant Contribution Award (VIC)

The Award recognises significant contribution to clinical psychology in Victoria in the areas of assessment and treatment, education, research, community education, training/supervision, mentoring, advocacy, and/or service development.

Student awards:

  • Student Prize (Masters or Doctorate students)
  • SA Section Prize (Masters students)

College of Community Psychologists

Robin Winkler Award

The Award recognises excellence in a research project in the field of community psychology.

College of Counselling Psychologists

Student Awards:

  • Doctoral Award
  • Susanna Richardson Award (Masters students)

College of Forensic Psychologists

NSW Section Annual Awards

The Awards recognise excellence in forensic psychology in the following three categories:

  • Open category for contribution to forensic psychology, e.g., media personnel, legal professionals.
  • Psychological practice and professional work
  • Research and academic work

Student award:

  • Maconochie Prize (Masters or Doctorate students)

College of Health Psychologists

Student Awards:

  • Award for Excellent Higher Degree Thesis
  • Award for Excellent Masters Thesis
  • Award for Excellent Honours Thesis

College of Organisational Psychologists

Elton Mayo Awards

The Awards are conferred biennially and recognise original, significant and enduring contributions to the field of organisational psychology in addition to significant involvement in APS-related activities by College members over a period of at least 10 years, in two areas:

  • Elton Mayo Research and Teaching Award for sustained and outstanding contribution to research and teaching in the field of organisational psychology
  • Elton Mayo Professional Practice Award for sustained and outstanding contribution to professional practice in the field of organisational psychology

Early Career Award

The Award is conferred biennially and recognises original and significant contributions to knowledge in the field of industrial and organisational psychology in an early career (less than 10 years) by a member of the College.

Student award:

  • Highest Academic Performance of a Masters Student Award (SA)

College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists

Student awards:

  • Student Award (Masters or Doctorate students)
  • Best Student Presentation Prize (postgraduate student conference presentations)
