The Australian Psychological Society (APS) invites expressions of interest for the next Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Journal of Psychology (AJP), our flagship research journal.

Published in partnership with Taylor & Francis, AJP is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open access journal showcasing high-quality research across the breadth of psychological science.

The opportunity

This is a meaningful leadership role for an established academic to help shape the future of psychological research publishing. As Editor-in-Chief, you will guide the journal’s direction, support research quality and integrity, and strengthen its visibility and impact in Australia and internationally.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • PhD and minimum five years’ postdoctoral research experience
  • Demonstrated record of research, scholarship, and publication at a national/international level
  • Record of contribution to the peer-review process
  • Understanding of open-access publishing
  • Ability to lead a large team of people
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Dedication to continue to grow the journal's reach and expand the team
