Awards-lead-(1)

We are proud to share that three psychologists have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List, as announced by the Governor-General.

Our whole profession benefits when the profile of psychology is raised through such achievement, and it is wonderful to see such recognition of tireless work by those in our profession.

Emeritus Professor Justin KENARDY AO FAPS from Queensland has been appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in the General Division for distinguished service to clinical psychology, to the understanding of traumatic stress, to governance roles, and to tertiary education. Justin has held many positions within the APS and is a Non-Executive Director on the APS Board. He is a Fellow of the APS and the Clinical College and has been a member for 43 years.

Mrs Tamara Cavenett OAM FAPS from South Australia has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for service to psychology. Tamara is a past President of the Australian Psychological Society and past national Chair of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is a Fellow of the APS and has been a member for 14 years.

Dr Ann Wollner OAM MAPS from Victoria has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for service to the Jewish community. Ann has been a member of the APS for 19 years and is a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

Psychologists continue to have an enormous positive impact on the lives of Australians. This recognition is very well deserved.

*Please note this is the complete list of psychologist recipients to the best of our knowledge, but if you know of another psychologist who has been honoured and should be recognised here, please contact us at [email protected]
