We are proud to share that two APS psychologists have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List, as announced by the Governor-General.
Our whole profession benefits when the profile of psychology is raised through such achievement, and it is wonderful to see such recognition of tireless work by those in our profession.
Ms Greta Jessie Bradman AM MAPS from Victoria has been awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in the General Division (AM) for significant service to the performing arts in a range of roles, and to psychology. Ms Bradman has been an APS member for close to 10 years. Greta’s work includes promoting positive mental health among performing artists.
Professor Skye Mcdonald AO from New South Wales has been appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to clinical neuropsychology, and to research into social cognition disorders after traumatic brain injury. Professor Skye McDonald was a member of the APS for over 38 years and is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the University of NSW.
The APS also acknowledges our professional colleagues who were recognised in the weekend's honours. These include:
- Ms Shannon Lesley Atkins ACM
- Professor Nickolai Titov AM
- Mr David Allan Bridges ACM
- Dr Margaret Mary Niemann OAM
- Professor Marie Bee Hui Yap OAM
Psychologists continue to have an enormous positive impact on the lives of Australians. This recognition is very well deserved.
