What is this project about?
We are investigating the current perspectives, experiences, and knowledge of Australian psychologists on the topic of antidepressant discontinuation
Long-term antidepressant use is common in Australia, yet many individuals receive limited support if and when they decide to discontinue. While gradual tapering combined with psychological support is now considered best practice, the role of psychologists in this process remains largely unexplored.
Who is eligible to participate?
Registered Psychologists (including those who are provisionally registered) in Australia who work or have previously worked in clinical practice are invited to complete a survey.
What does participation involve?
This 10-minute online survey will ask about your background, your work as a psychologist, and your experiences and perspectives on supporting clients through antidepressant discontinuation.

Ethical approval for this study has been granted by Deakin University, project number [2025_HE001065].
