ACAP University College is conducting a study investigating a new classification system of psychopathology called the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) which seeks to rectify critiques of existing classification systems such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM; e.g. high comorbidity rates, high heterogeneity rates, lack of consideration of subclinical presentations).
Currently, research on the clinical utility of the HiTOP is in its early stages. Therefore, this study aims to explore the clinical usefulness of this new system across a variety of health professionals who work in mental health contexts in Australia.
We invite you to participate if you are:
• An Australian-registered health professional who has worked or is working with people in a mental health capacity. In particular, we are seeking psychologists, psychiatrists, and general practitioners. You may be either provisionally or fully registered.
• Currently living in Australia.
• In no existing relationship with the researchers.
The study will take approximately 45-60 minutes.
