Co-designing a practice-ready framework for screen conversations and digital-age anxiety

Closes 30 September 2026

What is this research about?
We are developing a conversation guide called COMPASS, to help adults start safe, calm and useful conversations with young people about screens, online spaces and worry. We are looking for adult practitioners and professional stakeholders to review the draft guide and tell us whether it is clear, safe, practical and suitable for different roles before any future research involving young people.

Who is eligible to participate?
You may be eligible if you are aged 18 years or over and work with, support, educate or advise: children or young people; families; educators or practitioners; or child, youth, wellbeing, community or mental health services.

This may include early childhood professionals, teachers, school wellbeing staff, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists, youth workers, family support workers, clinicians, community workers, researchers, policy professionals, and workforce development staff.

What is involved?
Completion of an online survey (10-15 minutes) about the draft COMPASS conversation guide. You can also choose to be contacted for an optional online interview or co-design workshop.
