I trained in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London and then took up a post in the Medical Faculty of the University of Melbourne with responsibility for psychology courses for medical, dental and physiotherapy students and clinical psychology services to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. I now work entirely in private practice. I have knowledge and skills in working with adults with an array of issues, including adjustment concerns, anxiety, trauma, depression and coping with serious physical illnesses, such as cancer. I tailor therapy to each individual to meet their own needs. My therapeutic approach is broadly Cognitive Behavioural with a focus upon helping a person to gain an understanding of the nature of their problems and how to discover, and effectively use, their own strengths and problem solving skills. I have worked at a senior level in both Australia and the UK.I have published many research papers and chapters in books.
