I work with adolescents, parents and parent-child relationships. Parents often report difficulties they are having with their children�s emotions and behaviour, their own frustration or anxiety, and not knowing how to respond to these difficulties. Children�s development is influenced by several things: genetics, temperament, and the environment they develop in. Of these, we have most influence over their developmental environments. Initially, we work with parents to identify and increase the desirable emotion and behaviour they see in their children. Only then do we work on reducing the undesirable things. We also know that children do better in environments where parents can manage without becoming frustrated or angry, so we work to address any parent characteristics that influence children�s development.
