Cheryl is a health psychologist with over fifteen years of experience working in hospitals, the community and private practice. She seeks to help people manage distress and adaptively cope with challenging life experiences to achieve optimum well-being. Cheryl assists people with a range of issues including health problems, progressive illness, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and other mental health problems. A significant part of her work has also been providing psychological support at the end of life to carers and family members. Cheryl uses a holistic approach with a focus on inclusivity and respect for diversity. She uses a range of psychological therapies to assist people including acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapies, EMDR, narrative and grief therapies. Cheryl has worked in health research, training and consultation with fellow health professionals to promote best practices in health care.
