Rick is a Registered Psychologist who has nearly 30 years� experience in the assessment and treatment of alcohol and drug dependence and mental health issues in both the public and private health sectors.



His interest is in the impact of emotional and psychological issues on interpersonal relationships, social functioning, health and wellbeing.



He has extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. His therapeutic approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention Training, Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Interventions.



Rick's approach is to develop greater awareness of underlying emotional states, bodily sensations, thought patterns and behavioural responses to everyday life situations; and to identify opportunities and strategies for personal growth and change.



In previous roles as a health manager, he has mentored emerging leaders and to develop high performing teams.
