Mary is a Clinical Psychologist who has nearly 20 years experience in the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, behavioural problems, and other mental health concerns. Her interest lies in the effects of early life attachment traumas on subsequent health and functioning. She has worked in both the private and public health sectors, but now works in private practice.

Mary is trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). ISTDP has shown to be an effective therapy modality. She now practises Affect State Therapy (AST), which is a recent adaptation of ISTDP. AST uses Attachment Theory and modern neurobiological understandings of the brain, in bringing about change.

Mary helps her clients see and understand their unhelpful interactional patterns, behaviours and thought patterns. The purpose they serve and where they originally came from, providing the opportunity for healing and growth.
