Dr Jemma Gilchrist has a particular interest in working with people with cancer and their families. She has worked in major metropolitan cancer treatment centres and continues to work in the private sector in multidisciplinary cancer care teams. Jemma works with other clinical psychologists who have a particular interest in cancer care at her practice, Mind My Health. Cancer care involves having a detailed understanding of treatment options, decisions to be made, the impact of treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy and the challenges for individuals and families to navigate. The impact of cancer does not end when the treatment does, and Jemma works with clients to help them to adjust and to optimise wellbeing and coping with new challenges. She works across all cancers and has a particular interest in breast cancer. She will see clients in person at two locations in Sydney as well as via telehealth from anywhere in Australia.
