Mike completed Doctoral studies in clinical psychology at the Australian National University (ANU) where his research focussed on trauma related cognitions, emotions and behaviours. He has received additional formal training in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focussed CBT, Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Mike served as an officer in the Australian Army, deploying twice on active service. He has previously served as Chair of the ACT Section of the APS Clinical College, and on the National Committee of the APS Clinical College.
