Sylvia Niele is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Medicare Provider and works with a diverse range of presentations including: depression, anxiety and phobias, abuse and trauma (especially PTSD), parenting/family challenges, loss/bereavement, autism spectrum disorders, adjustment issues, self-esteem, ageing, chronic pain management, obsessive compulsive disorders, compulsive eating, and personality related issues. Sylvia takes a collaborative, emotion-focused, and humanistic approach drawing on CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), imaginal exposure, CPT (cognitive processing therapy) mindfulness, attachment theory, existential and interpersonal psychotherapy, DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy), Schema Therapy, narrative therapy, positive psychology, and in particular, Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). Sylvia aims to facilitate and promote insight, personal growth, well-being and independence.
