APS Branch
Overview
The APS Perth Branch is pleased to invite you the next round of "Evenings with AI".
If AHPRA, a regulator, an employer, an insurer, or a client asked tomorrow for evidence of your AI governance, what would you actually be able to provide?
A generic privacy policy is no longer sufficient when AI tools may be used for transcription, drafting, report support, clinical administration, psychometric material, session notes, or risk-related information. This workshop is a practical, implementation-focused session designed to help psychologists understand what a defensible AI Acceptable Use Policy should contain.
Participants will be walked through the documentation practices needed to demonstrate oversight, accountability, and risk management. The session will cover how to create an audit trail for AI-assisted work, how to distinguish lower-risk administrative uses from higher-risk clinical uses, and how to develop simple governance procedures that can be explained and defended if later questioned.
This is not theoretical ethics. It is practical documentation clinicians can begin using immediately.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:
- Identify the essential components of a defensible AI Acceptable Use Policy for psychological practice.
- Differentiate lower-risk administrative uses of AI from higher-risk clinical applications requiring greater oversight and safeguards.
- Develop practical documentation and audit-trail procedures for AI-assisted transcription, drafting, reporting, note-taking and clinical administration.
- Demonstrate accountability and risk management by explaining and evidencing their AI governance processes to regulators, employers, insurers and clients.
