Presentation - seminar Event

APS presents: "Roxanne Garven - Tav Talk - 10 Key Systemic Therapy and Family Therapy Practices

Overview

This talk will select 10 key systemic therapy and family therapy practices that will encompass not only the “doing “of systemic psychotherapy but the principles and ethics of working from a contextual and relational basis.

The talk will explore how systemic therapists place importance on context as a way of eliciting meaning to behaviours, beliefs and the effect these have on forming relationships. It will explore other key ideas, such as, the effects of exploring circular, holistic explanations to problems, the power of remaining curious in the face of certainty and the therapeutic levers found in circular questioning and developing collaborative relationships. Clinical stories will be used to illustrate these 10 systemic and family therapy practices.

Please note: Event is located in the upstairs function area.
