May Tav Talk

Overview

The APS TAS Branch are pleased to welcome you to the 3rd in our Tav Talk series. Tav Talks are an informal space for psychologists to network, hear presentations and discuss interesting topics related to psychology. Please arrive promptly for 6pm so our presenter can commence on time.

About the presenter(s)

Joanne is a registered Clinical Psychologist who worked at NSW Health in chronic pain for a number of years and then transitioned into complex trauma full time. She was the Team Leader to the Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect service in regional NSW covering Sexual Assault, Child Protection Counselling and Harmful Sexual Behaviours in children from 2023 to 2025. Since April 2025 she has been contracted to Laurel House Sexual Assault Service as Senior Counsellor in the North-West covering Burnie, Devonport, King Island and the West Coast. Joanne completed her EMDR Advanced training in June 2025 and obtained her Certificate in Complex Trauma and Dissociation also in 2025 through the International Society of Trauma and Disassociation (ISSTD). The ISSTD training provided specialised training and case consultations around DID and complex disassociation presentations. She is the current Secretary of the Australia/ NZ Regional Committee branch of the International Society for Trauma and Disassociation (ISSTD). Joanne is also a veterinarian, a scuba dive instructor and loves swimming and art.

Notes

Registration is being taken to assist the branch in better understanding the needs of psychologist in the North West of Tasmania and will help us plan for this and future events.

Target Audience

This activity is aimed at all psychologists.
