Connect CBT – Insight and Intervention: A Psychologist’s Approach to Psychosis

Overview

This Outer Eastern Melbourne Branch of the APS is pleased to offer this event - a practical, integrative workshop for clinicians who want to deepen their confidence and skill in working with psychosis.

This training is delivered in two focused parts.

The first section (28 May 2026) explores key considerations in assessing psychotic experiences, followed by the core therapeutic principles that support effective engagement with people living with psychosis.

The second section (11 June 2026) moves into applied clinical work, including how to develop a meaningful, collaborative formulation to guide intervention. Participants will learn targeted strategies for working with delusions and auditory hallucinations, grounded in current evidence and real world clinical practice.

Connect CBT offers an integrated therapeutic framework that draws on CBT, ACT, CFT, and psychoanalytic perspectives, supporting clinicians to work flexibly and compassionately with complex presentations.
