Webinar (Live) Event

Psychology & Homelessness Peer Consultation (October 2026)

Overview

The APS Interest Group on Psychology and Homelessness holds online peer consultation groups on the first Wednesday of each month.

Your participation, whether discussing your own practice or listening to others, will contribute to meeting your annual continuing professional development requirements and benefit your practice. Groups will have a maximum of 10 attendees.

Discussions will focus on assessing and treating mental health conditions in people experiencing homelessness, contributing social factors, and resources available to support this cohort.

Peer consultation will be ideal for you if you have an interest in homelessness, practice in the public or homelessness sector, or if in the regular course of your work, you have clients at risk of homelessness (e.g., living in unstable or unsafe accommodation), or presenting with a mental health condition prevalent among people experiencing homelessness, such as complex PTSD. Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples may also be a focus of discussion as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are over-represented in the homeless population.
