Yoga and Mindfulness for Pain

Overview

Pain is complex, and myths about pain can hinder effective treatment. Whether you are a psychologist, physiotherapist, yoga teacher, or living with persistent pain, join us for an insightful workshop led by Dr. Rob Schütze, a senior yoga teacher, clinical psychologist, and researcher specialising in pain management.

This workshop will explore the science of pain, effective management strategies, and the integration of yogic and mindfulness into pain care. Ideal for psychologists, physiotherapists, yoga teachers, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of pain and its management through yoga and mindfulness, this session will enhance your knowledge and practice.

Dr Rob Schütze

About the presenter(s)

Dr Rob Schütze is a clinician researcher specialising in pain management. His research focuses on: interdisciplinary biospychosocial interventions for pain and chronic health conditions; mindfulness and yoga interventions; blended clinician-led and digitally enabled pain care; pain education for health professionals; and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. He currently holds a Raine Clinician Research Fellowship and is a chief investigator on several industry funded and MRFF research projects. Clinically, Rob works as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Multidisciplinary Pain Management Centre at Royal Perth Hospital, and as a yoga/meditation teacher at Yoga Space Perth. He has spent many years studying yoga and meditation in Australia and South East Asia, is a registered Senior Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist and MBSR teacher.
