Workshop Event

Assessment and treatment of adolescents and adults with eating disorders in private practice

Overview

This 3-day online interactive workshop is designed to give you what you need to know to confidently identify, assess, diagnose and implement effective treatment with clients with eating disorders in private practice.

It has been developed and will be presented by Dr Sarah Egan and Dr Amanda Bolton, active treating senior clinicians for clinicians with real world experience of the complexities of working with this client group in the private practice framework.  It integrates an introduction to the EDs as well as comprising two days of treatment specific training. No pre-requisite training required!

The training is live and interactive, involving:

  • Real client testimonials and case examples,
  • Videos demonstrating the skills and approaches,
  • Take home resources and handouts,
  • Opportunities to practice skills learned, and
  • As part of credentialing, 4 supervision sessions are offered post training (additional costs involved & voluntary).

You will have access to a closed Facebook group of other clinicians who have completed the training, so you are part of a cohort of people learning with you and so you feel supported following the training.

This training has been approved by NEDC as meeting the requirement of a combined training in introduction to eating disorders for health professionals and evidence-based treatment model (CBT-E) as required for the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential.

You will not only learn the principals of CBT-E but how to effectively integrate family work and other practical strategies to ensure you have the tools required to help clients successfully commence and progress through treatment.
