Overview
As per the Australian Psychological Society April 2025 Insights, around 3.5 million Australians live with chronic insomnia and only a small minority of psychologists are trained in insomnia management, for more information, please click here.
This practical and interactive webinar will suit those wanting both an introduction to and a refresher on working with clients across the age range with sleep problems. Participants will together apply the biopsychosocial model and 6 P’s of formulation to case examples and develop appropriate treatment plans. A range of free and up to date online resources to access for use with clients across the age range will be discussed. Further directions will be given should you want more comprehensive training on CBT-i (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia).
This webinar will be using mentimeter to allow active audience participation. A QR code will be sent after registration enabling access. A hand held device or alternate/split screen view is required.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:
- Identify common presenting problems for clients related to sleep across the age range.
- Identify a range of biopsychosocial predisposing, precipitating, perpetuating, and protective factors impacting on sleep, across different age ranges.
- Describe psychological interventions to assist with sleep problems.
- Apply formulations to guide appropriate treatment plan/interventions.
- Be able to access a range of up to date resources to use with children, adolescents and adults with sleep impairment.

Ms. Meredith Jordan
About the presenter(s)
Meredith Jordan is a clinical psychologist who has worked with child, adolescent and adult clients in both community and inpatient settings where sleep impairment is secondary to their presenting problems (mental health, chronic illness, medical issues and/or hospitalisation, obesity, neurodevelopmental disorders).
Meredith Jordan currently works as the Profession Lead for Psychology in the Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer, NT Health in Darwin.

Target Audience
This event is aimed at any psychologists or mental health professionals wanting to expand their knowledge in this area.
Duration of Access
