APS Professional development
Overview
The APS hosts this webinar with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
Autism is far more prevalent than initially thought and autistic people often experience mental health issues that bring them to see psychologists.
If psychologists are not aware of the subtle presentations of autism, such as the camouflaging subtype, its possible that they may misdiagnose a personality disorder, and their clients miss out on accurate information, accommodations and support.
This webinar aims to assist health professionals to understand the nexus between autism and personality disorders to maximise the potential for best outcomes for clients who may possess one or both conditions.
It will include the latest research on how autism and personality disorders may present, how to unpack each of them, and the clinical management considerations for each when both are applicable.
