Webinar (Live) Event

Neurodiversity Affirming Practice for Neuropsychologists

Overview

The CCN NSW Section warmly invite you to a webinar on neurodiversity affirming practices. The webinar will explore the latest literature on neurodiversity affirming approaches and encourage neuropsychologists to reflect on how their practice is aligned with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)’s new Professional Competency 7.9, which comes into effect from 1 December 2025.

This competency requires psychologists to understands neurodiversity, strengths-based, trauma-informed and positive approaches to supporting people with developmental disabilities. In addition, the webinar will aim to critically analyse the utility of neuropsychological measures in the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions. Showing that whilst neuropsychological assessment is not necessary in making a diagnosis, there are many benefits when performed in a neurodiversity affirming manner.
