Feature talk by Monique Mitchelson, Clinical Psychologist (M.Clin.Psych, MAPS)

Join your APS Brisbane Committee for a 2025 Networking Event, designed to spark conversation, connection, and community among  psychology professionals.

We're delighted to welcome Monique Mitchelson, Clinical Psychologist and passionate advocate in the field of neurodiversity, who will kick off the evening with a short talk titled “Implicit Bias in Working with Autistic People”. Monique’s insights will set the tone for meaningful peer discussion as we reflect on inclusive evidence based clinical practice.

Time: Doors open 6:00pm | Talk: 6:30pm–7:00pm | Networking until 8:00pm (and beyond!)

Monique Mitchelson - Clinical Psychologist (M.Clin.Psych, MAPS)

Monique Mitchelson (she/her) is an Autistic and ADHD Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor based in Brisbane, Australia:

  • Co-founded Divergent Futures, providing neurodiversity-affirming education and consultation.  
  • Co-hosts "The Neurodivergent Woman Podcast," blending clinical expertise with lived experience to highlight neurodivergent women's voices with over 2 million downloads.
  • Co-authored an Amozon's 'best selling' book, "The Neurodivergence Skills Workbook for Autism and ADHD".
  • Monique specialises in Trauma, Autism, ADHD, Chronic Illness and Pain, and neurodivergent clinician well-being, utilising therapies like Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR.
  • Monique consulted on the National Autism Strategy and the APS Neuroinclusive Events Guideline.
  • Holds fellowships with the Australian Psychological Society's Clinical College. ​
