Overview
The 200-hour Psychedelic-Assisted Psychosomatic Therapy (PAPT) Training Course offered by the BioMedical Institute of Yoga & Meditation (BIYOME) is a pioneering program that integrates ancient contemplative sciences with contemporary therapeutic practices. Designed for mental health professionals, this course delves into Yoga Psychology, Eastern Psychiatry, and Buddhist Psychotherapy, while also engaging with modern Western models of mind and consciousness. Participants will explore the rich history of plant medicine within yogic traditions, emphasising natural consciousness exploration as a primary therapeutic intervention. The curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of psychedelic-assisted therapy, focusing on trauma-informed, somatic, and body-oriented approaches. Through a blend of online and face-to-face learning, including expert-led practical demonstrations and experiential clinical skills sessions, students will be equipped to navigate the complexities of preparation, integration, intention setting, and client expectation management. Upon successful completion, graduates will be proficient in providing Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy within current regulatory guidelines, fulfilling roles such as Psychedelic Prescriber, Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist, or Psychedelic Facilitator. Additionally, the course offers pathways for provisional registration as a 200-hour yoga teacher with Yoga Australia, enhancing the practitioner's ability to incorporate somatic practices into their therapeutic repertoire.
