Overview
The APS hosts this activity with the Positive Psychology Interest Group (PPIG).
This webinar will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to apply evidence-based strengths approaches in the workplace. It will introduce strengths theories, strengths assessments and provide strategies on the application of strengths in the workplace.
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to broaden their practice, and consider the application of character and performance strengths for clients in their workplaces.
It will cover:

evidence from positive psychology and workplace research, to illustrate how leveraging strengths enhances employee engagement, productivity, and well-being,
-
the use of scientifically validated tools to identify team strengths and to apply these strengths in daily work tasks and projects, fostering a more positive and effective work environment, and
-
strengths-based approaches to foster psychological safety in the workplace by encouraging open communication, trust, and support, allowing employees to feel confident in taking risks, sharing ideas, and learning from mistakes without fear of negative consequences.

Duration of access
Access to the recording and presenter slides is for 12 months from the date of confirmed registration.

About the presenter(s)
Dr Suzy Green is a Clinical and Coaching Psychologist (MAPS) and Founder & CEO of The Positivity Institute, a Sydney-based positively deviant organisation dedicated to the research and application of the science of optimal human functioning in organisations and schools.
Suzy is a leader in the complementary fields of Coaching Psychology and Positive Psychology having conducted a world-first study on evidence-based coaching as an Applied Positive Psychology. She has published over twenty academic chapters and peer reviewed journal articles including the Journal of Positive Psychology. She is also the co-editor of “Positive Psychology Coaching in Practice” (Green & Palmer, 2018), “Positive Psychology Coaching in the Workplace” (Smith, Boniwell & Green, 2021) and “The Positivity Prescription” (Green, 2019).
Suzy lectured on Applied Positive Psychology as a Senior Adjunct Lecturer in the Coaching Psychology Unit, University of Sydney for ten years and is an Honorary Vice President of the International Society for Coaching Psychology. Suzy is an Honorary Professor at the UTS Business School, Sydney, a Visiting Professor at the University of East London, an Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Wellbeing Science, University of Melbourne and an Affiliate of the Institute for Well-Being, Cambridge University. Suzy is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for CoachHub, a leading global coaching technology platform.
Suzy retains a small number of senior executive/c-suite coaching clients supporting their performance and wellbeing. Suzy’s expertise is in developmental/transformational coaching. This type of coaching takes a broader strategic approach, often dealing with issues relating to personal and professional growth. This enables the client to create a fundamental shift in their capacity to change their thinking, feeling and behaviour. Coaching sessions may focus on facilitating insight, enhancing emotional competencies, or creating and sustaining positive relationships. The coaching sessions provide a reflective space where the client can explore issues and options and formulate action plans.
