Organiser Banner

Overview

Phoenix Australia has developed a suite of four CPD Approved integrated courses designed to support practitioners to extend their knowledge and skills in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):

  1. Understanding PTSD,

  2. Assessment, Formulation, and Treatment Planning for PTSD,

  3. Understanding Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and

  4. Implementing Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Assessment, Formulation, and Treatment Planning for PTSD

This is the second eLearning activity in the series and it explores current best-practice approaches to assessment, formulation, and treatment planning for individuals who have experienced trauma.

The activity uses reliable evidence-based methods and measures, to assist psychologists in identifying their clients’ most prominent and troubling difficulties, and in making accurate diagnoses. It also supports the development of case formulations and treatment plans targeting the individual need of each client and allows the tracking of progress over time.

The activity has been designed to build on foundational competence in assessment, formulation, and treatment planning, and invites learners to consider how to adapt these competencies for work with individuals who have experienced trauma. It contains a series of scaffolded modules and invites exploration of the application of these clinical activities to ‘authentic’ cases.

Refer to 'Related activities' below for details and to enrol into the other activities within this series.
