Student Subscriber

You are eligible to become an APS Student Subscriber if you are currently enrolled in an APAC-accredited course or a postgraduate research degree in psychology, such as a PhD.

If you are currently studying an APAC-accredited undergraduate course in psychology in Australia, and have never been an APS Student Subscriber before, you can join online.

Eligibility criteria

Become a Student Subscriber by submitting proof of current enrolment. You can provide proof of enrolment in the following ways:

  • an electronic screen shot of your student online portal, or;
  • a signed letter of confirmation from the higher education provider, or
  • a summary of enrolment stamped and signed by the higher education provider, or enrolment advice and fee help liability.

Please note that the APS accepts high quality images or digital scans of the above documentation. The above documentation must include your full name, the name of your university (with logo), the name of the course you are currently enrolled in, and confirmation of enrolment in 2023.

Fees

The APS is committed to helping psychology students on their career journey, by maximising their access to learning and career development resources at a significantly reduced cost compared to other grades of membership.

Students can join online at join.psychology.org.au and need only upload their proof of current enrolment.

If you are a postgraduate student and are new to the APS, you may be eligible for a special offer currently available for 2024.

The Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) sets the standards for accreditation of Australian psychology programs.

The easiest and quickest way to find out if your course is APAC-accredited is to search the accredited course listings on the APAC website.

If you are still unsure, APAC recommends that you first contact the APAC liaison officer at your university to obtain some clarity. If you are still unable to ascertain the status of your degree then contact APAC directly. 

Yes, there are APAC-accredited psychology courses that can be completed by distance education which can be found on the APAC website. Courses are listed by state, and those that have the option of distance education are indicated by a * next to the course name.

Yes. You may join the APS as an Affiliate.

Alternatively, if you hold full, unconditional and current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, you can apply for the grade of Associate Member.

To access discounted rates through Aon you need to hold the grade of Associate Member or above.
