Psychology Education Interest Group Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Research Grant Award

How will the award be administered:

1. The PsyEd Interest Group is responsible for the award and for funding the award.
2. The PsyED Interest Group will appoint a selection committee of at least three members from different states who have demonstrated leadership in the scholarship of teaching and learning, to be responsible for recommending an appropriate Award recipient(s) to the Board.
3. The selection committee may recommend that up to three Awards be granted.
4. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by the start of the AusPLAT Conference (at the latest).
5. All grants are assessed on the merit of the application and the information contained in it.
6. All decisions by the PsyEd Interest Group are final, with no correspondence entered into.
7. The Grant must be taken up:
   • In the year it is awarded
   • For the purpose of attending and presenting at the AusPLAT Conference.

1. Eligibility of nominee:
   • Applicants must have submitted an abstract in the same year as that of the AusPLAT conference.
   • Applicants who do not reside in Australia or New Zealand will be considered, but applicants who reside in Australia and New Zealand will be given priority, unless the applicant is a resident who is currently teaching overseas. 

Application for the award must be made to the Chair of the PsyEd Interest Group by the closing date.

Selection criteria of nominee:

The selection committee will consider the overall merit of the application as well as the following:

1. Importance of the topic being presented, 
2. The degree of innovation that is involved in the research project,
3. The degree to which evidence-based scholarly practices are demonstrated, and
4. The potential degree of interest to AusPLAT attendees. 

What is the value of the award:

1. The successful applicant(s) will be awarded up to $1000 and a letter of commendation.
2. Registration will be paid for the successful applicant out of the $1000, and the rest will assist with reimbursement towards airfares or accommodation costs. Note, receipts must be provided for reimbursement and any expenses exceeding the limit will be the responsibility of the awardee.
3. Up to three Awards may be granted in an award cycle
    

Award closes:

1. The award is offered on a biennial basis, aligned with the year the AusPLAT Conference is held.
2. Nominations close on 30 June in the year of the AusPLAT Conference.
