College of Clinical Neuropsychologists National Student Travel Award

The APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists encourages and facilitates the attendance of Student Members of the College to attend a neuropsychology conference held either nationally or internationally, through its travel award. This support is aimed at advancing the continued professional development of students in the field of clinical neuropsychology. Each year, two student members who hold APS CCN membership will be eligible for this grant

Administration

  1. The APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists (CCN) is responsible for the administration and funding of the Award at a national level, ensuring its alignment with the College's standards and goals.
  2. A selection committee, composed of at least three members, will be appointed by the Committee of the APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists. This committee will be responsible for selecting an appropriate Award recipient, based on the established criteria.
  3. The award will be presented at an appropriate APS event (e.g., the CCN annual AGM), or other relevant professional gathering as determined by the CCN Committee.
  4. The award recipients will be announced via APS CCN digital communication channels (e.g., PsyCommunity and the APS website) and documented in the CCN AGM Minutes annually.

Eligibility

  1. Nominees must be current Student Members of the APS CCN.
  2. Nominees must be Australian citizens or hold permanent residency status in Australia.
  3. Nominees must be enrolled, whether full-time or part-time, in an APAC-accredited postgraduate program in clinical neuropsychology or a PhD in a neuropsychology related area.
  4. This award can only be applied for and received once by any individual, ensuring a wider distribution of opportunities among eligible candidates.

Nomination process

The CCN National Committee will call for nominations annually via APS CCN digital communication channels (e.g., Social Media, PsyCommunity, APS website).

Eligible student CCN members submit a nomination form, which contains:

  1. A clear and compelling statement outlining the purpose of their travel including the specific professional development activity they plan to attend and how attending it will benefit their education.
  2. Supporting documentation including a statement of costs (e.g., registration fees and travel costs).
  3. A declaration that the applicant has not accessed and will not access funding through any other channels (e.g., university financial support schemes) for the costs outlined in the application’s statement of costs.
  4. A statement of commitment to participate in APS CCN communications to members about the awards (e.g., allowing the CCN to share a photo of them at the professional development event).

Note: Applicants can submit an application relating to a professional development activity that occurred within the 6 months prior to the application closing date or will occur within the 6 months immediately following the application closing date
