Miss Tamika Galea
Significant Contribution to Rural and Remote Communities

Award type: Showcase

I started my psychology career at 17 years of age studying at the University of New England via distance education. I was lucky enough to be blessed with my daughter a few months after which motivated me to complete my studies in psychology and show her anything is possible. I opened Top Corner Psychology in 2022 after working in Arnhem Land for several years as a psychologist and seeing the need for better access to psychological services for those living on country, and who were experiencing difficulty with access from a financial perspective. TCP was founded to provide psychological intervention and assessment to vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Arnhem Land. TCP also offers specialised forensic assessments and interventions and travels to remote communities in Arnhem Land, Darwin region, and the Groote Archipelago, helping clients gain access to these specialist psychological services on country.
