APS welcomes Judy Marty FAPS GAICD as Vice President

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Judy Marty FAPS GAICD as Vice President. 

Judy is a highly respected psychologist and Director of a private practice in Perth. With a distinguished career spanning government, not-for-profit, and private practice sectors, she brings extensive leadership experience, institutional knowledge and a deep understanding of the diverse environments in which psychologists work. 

Judy has a particular interest and expertise in rural, regional and remote psychology. Throughout her career, she has championed improved access to psychological services for communities outside metropolitan areas, recognising the unique challenges and strengths of these regions. Her work reflects a strong commitment to equity and community wellbeing. 

With APS membership spanning almost 30 years, Judy has held a number of positions within the APS and was elected to Fellow in 2019, promoting and providing for the needs of members. Her achievements were also recognised with the APS Division of General Psychological Practice (DGPP) Award for Significant Contribution to Psychology in Australia. The APS looks forward to working with Judy in her new role to advance the profession of psychology and to support the vital role psychology plays in helping Australians thrive.
