Overview

The 2026 APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists Conference in nipaluna, Hobart invites neuropsychologists from across Australia to advance contemporary standards in neuropsychological practice and research. As our field responds to evolving professional practice standards, this year’s theme encourages practitioners, researchers, and students to critically reflect on how systemic inequities, power dynamics, and the integration of diverse perspectives can improve the fairness and relevance of neuropsychological assessment and intervention. Directly put, we ask:

Why is it important to keep asking ourselves how our own or society’s ideas might affect the way we understand someone’s brain or behaviour?

This conference will explore social justice in neuropsychology focusing on:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives as well as:

All other facets of diversity, including:

  • Culture
  • Disability
  • Age
  • LGBTIQA+ identity
  • Neurodiversity

The aim is to create a platform that enables learning from lived experiences, community leadership, and the latest research. Across academia, assessment, and clinical contexts, we will reflect on the relational, systemic, and ethical dimensions of practice, considering how a culturally responsive and rights-based neuropsychology can meaningfully contribute to mental health and cognitive wellbeing across the lifespan.

This CCN Conference will feature practical strategies, case studies, and dialogue designed to equip attendees with skills to meet current ethical and competency standards. Join us as we collectively showcase emerging research, innovative tools, and systemic considerations, including applications across the lifespan, digital health, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
