Webinar (Live) Event

CBIT in practice: An introduction to Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics

Organiser Banner

Overview

The APS hosts this webinar with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

This webinar provides an introductory overview of Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT), the most well-established evidence-based, non-pharmacological treatment for tic disorders and Tourette Syndrome.

The aim of the session is to increase awareness and familiarity with CBIT among psychologists and other health professionals, and to support the early identification and behavioural management of tics in clinical settings.

The webinar will cover core components of CBIT including psychoeducation, awareness training, competing response training, and functional interventions along with guidance on how these can be applied across the lifespan.

Participants will gain insight into the lived experience of tic disorders and develop a foundational understanding of how CBIT can be integrated into their practice to improve outcomes for clients presenting with tics.
