Submission to Senate Inquiry into the extent of income inequality in Australia

This 2014 submission was made by the APS in response to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee Inquiry into the Extent of Income Inequality in Australia.

The APS is aware of the growing income inequality in Australia, This submission draws on psychological research and best practice, recognising the detrimental impacts of inequality on the mental health, physical health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. The submission provides a discussion of the psychosocial factors contributing to, and impacts of inequality, and provides recommendations to assist in combating future and further disadvantage and inequality.
