Strategies for coping with community violence

Extreme and distressing events like public shootings, hate crimes, terrorist threats, violent racist demonstrations, and other acts of community violence, are powerful and upsetting incidents that intrude into daily life.

This document provides information about how to help individuals to cope with distressing feelings following community violence, and find ways of responding constructively to these events.
