Mr Jamie Lopes   MAPS

Telehealth available

Im a registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar with 13+ years experience working with individuals and couples. Im also a postdoctoral researcher at Swinburne University, focusing on schizophrenia, neurobiology, attachment, and emotional neuroscience.

Trained in ISTDP and EFT, I help clients uncover emotional patterns and defences that drive anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. By processing underlying feelings, clients can resolve long-standing blocks, build resilience, and foster deeper connection.

Ive worked across public health, community, and private practice with chronic mental illness, trauma, personality disorders, identity, sexuality, and LGBTQIA+ mental health. I also support clients exploring existential concerns and diverse relationship structures.

Having practised in Australia and Portugal, I offer therapy in English and Portuguese. My approach is psychodynamic, client-centred, and relational, aiming for both symptom relief and lasting change.
