I have treated adults, adolescents and children for over 30 years. My approach is psychoanalytically oriented. This means I think about treatment within the full context of an individual's difficulties.
I consult to many public mental health institutions, and supervise colleagues about their clinical work. I publish my research regularly in relevant psychoanalytic and psychological journals and books.
I most recently worked for five years as the Area senior clinical psychologist for North Western Mental Health service. Prior to this I worked for ten years establishing and conducting a psychoanalysis clinic for adults at the Centre for Psychotherapy, a public treatment unit in NSW. I have served as a conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Newcastle. Prior to this I worked in community peer counselling from age 17, as well as many community based and non-government therapy services.
