Initially training in Child & Adolescent Psychology, Rachel has been working in Private Practice in Melbourne for over 25 years. Rachel also worked as a School Psychologist for 5 years and as a Consulting Psychologist to Mother Baby / Early Parenting Units in two Melbourne Hospitals for over 20 years. With subsequent training in Perinatal Psychology, in Trauma Therapy and in Environmental Studies, Rachels current work is primarily in womens health, and with new and working parents.
Over the past decade, Rachel has developed a passion for supporting women in their transition to motherhood. Many working parents enter the world of parenthood with little experience of infant care, minimal family or community supports, and extremely high expectations of themselves after often more than a decade of working full time.
Rachel believes that as a community we need to do better to support all parents in better balancing the demands of parenting and working.
