About the presenter(s)
Suzanne Gibson - Suzanne completed her honours degree in psychology at UNSW, because she had a
love for the subject of psychology, never thinking she would actually become a psychologist. After
several years of working in case management roles, she realized that her passion was ignited by helping vulnerable people to improve their health and functioning and so set off on the long journey of completing the Masters of Clinical Psychology at Macquarie University. Today, Suzanne is a fully endorsed Clinical Psychologist, working with many vulnerable people in private practice. She is also the NSW Committee Chair for the APS College of Clinical Psychologists and has the great pleasure of hosting the forum to facilitate discussion between three great clinical psychologists.
Panellists:
1). Dr. Belinda Harris - Dr Harris is a Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and over 20 years of experience. She is the Founder and Director of Health in Mind Orange, a Central Western NSW practice that is home to 17 psychologists and 4 administrative staff. In her clinical role, Belinda works primarily with adults experiencing complex and severe mental health issues, including trauma, dissociation, eating disorders, and personality disorders. She is a certified EMDR Practitioner and an EMDR Facilitator-in-Training with the EMDR Institute. Belinda also integrates parts-based therapy, neurofeedback, CBT, and DBT into her therapeutic work.
2. Bethany Wootton - Clinical Psychologist and Professor in Clinical Psychology in the Graduate School of Health at the University of Technology Sydney. Clinically, Prof. Wootton focuses on the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Prof Wootton's research primarily focuses on improving the assessment and identification of these conditions, as well as the development and evaluation of remote psychological treatments in order to improve access to evidence-based treatment for individuals with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive spectrum conditions.
3. Malinda Guest - Clinical Psychologist and Director of Boundless Psychology, with extensive experience in public and private health settings, working primarily with adults and couples across rural and remote communities. She serves on several committees, including the NSW College of Clinical Psychologists and the APS Rural and Remote Interest Group, and is currently completing the Diversity in Leadership Program with the National Farmers’ Federation. A Board-Approved Supervisor, Malinda provides individual and group supervision to early career psychologists and Master’s students at the University of New England, and is a regular guest speaker and panellist advocating for rural and remote mental health.
