Webinar (Live) Event

Single Session Thinking in Practice

Overview

Single Session Thinking (SST) is a structured process where clinicians work collaboratively with young people to maximise the opportunity to focus on a strength-based, solution-focussed area to work upon within a single session. This webinar provides an introduction and overview of SST in practice, informed by its research base and implementation within a national organisational setting. Each session makes the most of therapeutic work in that time, with options available for more sessions for individuals and, or their family. It can be applied for ‘walk in’ phone calls, in person counselling or clinical sessions embedded within practice to ensure integrated care address the needs of clients effectively.

Please note - This approach is applicable to a wide audience of psychologists. Only the main part of the presentation will be recorded. There will be some time at the end for those who attend to ask questions and interact, and this will not be recorded. The College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists - Tas warmly welcomes your attendance.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this event, participants will:

  • Have an understanding about the ‘what, how and why’ of single session thinking and the framework guiding this approach
  • Be able to reflect on how this process might contribute to quality client service delivery and care in their professional practice
  • Know more about the current developments and advances of this process as part of an evidence-based approach for supporting young people and families within the context of integrated care.
