2.00 CPD Hours APS Branch CPD | Event number: 25451
The PPWP of the Melbourne Branch is pleased to invite you to explore the upcoming changes to the psychology profession.
The Psychology Board of AHPRA published advance copies of ‘Professional Competencies for Psychologists’ in August 2024 and ‘Code of Conduct for Psychologists’ in November 2024. Both the Competencies and Code are effective from 1st December 2025. Psychologists need familiarity with these documents prior to them coming into effect as psychologists are required to develop a Continuing Professional Development Plan before the commencement of the CPD Cycle and the Plan should take into account the Competencies expected of registered psychologists. The Competencies and Code are on the Psychology Board website under ‘Standards and Guidelines’ followed by ‘Professional Practice Standards’.
The introduction of the Competencies and Code is a highly significant development for psychologists. The Chair of the Psychology Board, Rachel Phillips, has kindly agreed to make a presentation on the Competencies and Code and answer questions that attendees have.
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:
Registration includes a 2 course dinner followed by tea and coffee. In addition to dinner there is a cash bar.
Parking is available at Graduate House; information regarding this will be sent out if required.
Target Audience
This activity is aimed at Professional psychologists.
