The NSW Western Region Branch Prize for Excellence in Applied Psychology Studies acknowledges and encourages undergraduate psychology students residing in the western region of NSW to excel in their psychology studies.
The aim of the Award is to recognize professional potential as evidenced by excellence in an applied psychology subject. By acknowledging the efforts of high achieving students the Branch aims to promote membership of the Australian Psychological Society and to encourage nominees to contribute their skills to the local region in western NSW.
Administration
- The NSW Western Region Branch is responsible for administering the Award and for funding of the Award.
- The recipient will be notified by a joint letter from Charles Sturt University and the NSW Western Region Branch of the Society and announced in the NSW Western Region Branch report in the Society NSW State Newsletter.
- The Award will be presented at the Charles Sturt University Prizes Ceremony and acknowledged at the NSW Western Region Branch annual general meeting.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be enrolled in the PSY404 Psychological Assessment subject of the APAC accredited undergraduate psychology program at Charles Sturt University.
- Nominees must reside in the western region of NSW (home address must be within the western region of NSW not term address). The western region of NSW is defined for these purposes as the area covered by the Western Region Branch of the Society.
Nomination process
The Board of Studies in Psychology at the Charles Sturt University shall be responsible for selecting the Award recipient in conjunction with the subject coordinator of PSY404 Psychological Assessment. The Head of the School of Psychology will notify the Chair of the Western Region Branch of the Australian Psychological Society of the Award winner.
Selection criteria
The prize will be awarded to the student who achieves the most outstanding results in the nominated applied psychology subject - PSY404 Psychological Assessment.
Value of the award
The successful candidate will receive:
- a book voucher to the value of $100;
- a 12 month student membership subscription to the Society, without cost; and
- an inscribed certificate issued by the Charles Sturt University.
