APS 15th Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference

Transforming the world of work

COVID-19 info

Do I have to be vaccinated to attend in-person?

The APS follows State Government and venue requirements for each event that is run with an in-person element. You can find out more about the Queensland Government's guidelines through their website.

Do I have to wear a mask?

This conference is being held on the Gold Coast, Queensland and attendees will be required to follow the state government's health regulations at the time. The mask guidelines for the Gold Coast are outlined on the Queensland Government's website.

What happens if I contract COVID and can no longer attend?

We've got you covered, if you feel relatively well and would still like to attend, we'd love to welcome you virtually. We can transfer your registration and refund the difference.

We know that sometimes COVID can knock you for a six and in these cases, you can choose to transfer to a virtual registration, receive the difference via a refund and then take 3 months to watch all the recorded sessions on demand at times that suit you.

Alternatively, we will offer a full refund to anyone who contracts COVID and can no longer attend.

Full attendee terms and conditions here.

What if the borders close?

We're liaising with key stakeholders on a regular basis to monitor the border situation. While there is never a guarantee, we remain optimistic that borders will remain open. However, in the event that Queensland closes its borders and you're unable to attend in-person, we would love to have you transfer to a virtual registration. Should this not be suitable, we will offer a full refund.

We will also monitor the situation for those based in Queensland and make final decisions based on the health advice at the time.

What are you doing to create a safe environment?

We're glad you asked! We are implementing multiple safety measures for our in-person audience including:

  • Contactless registration
  • Hygience stations through-out the venue
  • Physical distancing

We are also working with the venue on:

  • Ventilation requirements to minimise Co2
  • Food safety requirements
  • Contract tracing
  • Venue hygiene

Am I required to have a PCR test before attending?

At this stage attendees will not be required to show proof of a negative PCR test before attending in-person.

Will you be conducting rapid antigen testing?

The APS is currently investigating if attendees will be asked to perform a rapid antigen test (R.A.T) on arrival to the venue before moving into the conference space. We will update you shortly on the final decision.

What happens if I feel unwell at the conference?

If at any time you feel well, you are asked to contact the conference team and let us know. If your symptoms align with COVID, we will locate and help you get to the closest PCR testing facility and ask that you isolate in your accommodation until a negative result is received.

What happens if I test positive for COVID during the conference?

While we are implementing and following as many safety and hygience best practices as possible, there remains a chance that anyone can test positive for COVID during the conference. You may have been a close contact before arriving with symptoms manifesting during the event. In this case we will always refer to the state government regulations and health directions.

Will the APS pay for my travel changes if I contract COVID and can't return home
